Messier Considers Oilers Captain Greatest Leader

WEB: In a thrilling back-and-forth affair, the Edmonton Oilers and St. Louis Blues battled to a 3-3 draw at Rogers Place on Tuesday night. After falling behind 3-1 early in the second period, the Oilers rallied back thanks to a late equalizer from forward Evan Rodrigues. The goal came with just over two minutes remaining in the middle frame and marked Rodrigues' first of the season.

The Oilers started the scoring in the first period when Connor McDavid found the back of the net on a power play. However, the Blues responded with three unanswered goals from Robert Thomas, Vladimir Tarasenko, and Jordan Kyrou. Mike Smith started in goal for the Oilers and made 27 saves, while Jordan Binnington stopped 31 shots for the Blues.

The Oilers have now earned at least one point in their last three games and will look to extend their point streak when they host the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.
