The football matches at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France, will be held from 24 July to 10 August 2024. The competition will take place in seven venues across the country, with the final being held at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.

A total of 16 teams will compete in both the men's and women's tournaments, with each tournament featuring a group stage followed by a knockout stage.

The men's tournament will be the 29th edition of the Olympic football competition, while the women's tournament will be the 8th edition.

The 2024 Men's Olympic Football Tournament will take place in 7 Iconic Venues across France:

• Stade de Bordeaux, Bordeaux
• Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Saint-Étienne

Qualification

Teams will qualify for the 2024 Olympics football competition through their continental confederations.

The host nation France has an automatic place in the men's tournament, while the top three teams from the 2023 FIFA World Cup will qualify for the men's tournament.

The qualifiers for the women's tournament will be held in 2023.

Format

The 2024 Football competition will be run in both a men's and women's tournament.

Each tournament will consist of a group stage and a knockout stage.

In the group stage, the teams will be divided into four groups of four teams. Each team will play the other teams in their group once, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage.

In the knockout stage, the teams will compete in a single-elimination tournament, with the winner of each match advancing to the next round.
